NSW Start Strong Preschool Funding: Preschool fee relief
Preschool fee relief is a NSW Government initiative as part of the Start Strong Program. It provides Family Fee Relief funding to families with eligible children in preschool. Children’s Choice Early Learning are an approved Start Strong provider.
In 2025 Family Fee Relief Payments are available for eligible 3-year-old and 4 year old children, through long day care services participating in the 2025 Start Strong Program. The Family Fee Relief Payments will be passed on to families by the long day care Service as a weekly reduction to the session fee or gap fee.
To access the Family Fee Relief Payments, families will need to complete a NSW Government 2025 ‘Fee Relief Declaration and consent form’ for each child, and provide the completed form to the Campus. Access to Family Fee Relief Payments is only available from one Service at a time, and upon completion and return of the declaration form.
Additional funding support
Some families can get additional Child Care Subsidy to provide extra support with childcare fees.
There are four different types of additional Child Care Subsidy that you can apply for if you’re either:
- A grandparent
- Transitioning to work
- Experiencing temporary financial hardship
- Caring for a child who is vulnerable or at risk of harm, abuse, or neglect
